TheraMap helps people in Cyprus find health and wellness providers, and understand their options through clear, practical information. Because the topics we cover can affect people’s health and wellbeing, we hold our content to a high standard. This policy explains who we are, how we research and produce what we publish, how we handle listings and reviews, and how you can raise a concern.
Who we are and what we do
TheraMap is an online directory and information service. We list health and wellness providers across Cyprus, from GESY registered doctors and dentists to physiotherapists, psychologists, nutritionists and wellness practitioners, and we publish articles that help people navigate healthcare locally. We are a discovery and navigation tool. We are not a clinic, a medical service or a healthcare provider, and we do not offer diagnosis, treatment or medical advice.
Our editorial principles
Everything we publish is guided by five commitments:
- Accuracy. We aim to get the facts right and to correct mistakes quickly when they are pointed out to us.
- Usefulness. We write to help a real person make a practical decision, not to fill a page with keywords.
- Independence. Our editorial opinions are our own. Paid placement never buys a favourable article, and we label commercial content clearly.
- Clarity. We write in plain language, in both English and Greek, and we explain terms that a general reader may not know.
- Transparency. We are open about where our information comes from, how we make money, and when a relationship is commercial.
How we research and write content
Our articles are researched from reputable, publicly available sources. These include official Cyprus health bodies such as the Health Insurance Organisation and GESY, recognised medical and professional associations, government publications, and established international health organisations. Where we state a fact that a reader might want to check, we aim to make the source clear or to link to it.
Our content is written and reviewed by our editorial team for accuracy, balance and readability before it is published. We do not present our articles as medical advice, and we do not tailor them to any individual’s circumstances. Where a topic touches on symptoms, conditions, medicines or treatment, we direct readers to speak with a qualified professional rather than act on what they read on the site.
Medical disclaimer
The information on TheraMap is provided for general information only and is not medical advice. It is not a substitute for professional consultation, diagnosis or treatment. Always seek the advice of a qualified doctor or other suitably qualified health professional with any questions you have about a medical condition or your health. Never disregard professional advice, or delay seeking it, because of something you have read on our website. If you think you may have a medical emergency, contact the emergency services immediately.
How we keep content current
Health information changes over time. We review and update our articles periodically, and we show a date on our content so readers can judge how recent it is. If you spot something that has become out of date or inaccurate, please tell us and we will look into it.
Corrections
We take corrections seriously. If you believe we have published something that is factually wrong, email info@theramap.cy with the page and the detail you are questioning. Where a correction is needed we will make it promptly, and where a change is significant we will note that the article has been updated.
Advertising, sponsorship and commercial content
TheraMap is free for the public to use, and we fund the service in several ways. Providers can pay for an enhanced subscription listing. We may publish sponsored articles or advertising features that a business has paid to appear. From time to time we may also earn a commission when a reader follows a link to a partner and takes an action, such as buying a product or service.
None of this changes our editorial standards. Sponsored or paid content is labelled clearly so you always know when you are reading something a business has paid for. A paid subscription improves how a provider’s listing is presented and what features it includes. It does not buy a better review, a higher clinical recommendation, or editorial endorsement.
How listings are created
Some listings are compiled from information that providers make publicly available, for example professional and business details published in public registers and directories. This is a common and accepted practice for directories of this kind. Any provider can claim their listing to confirm, correct or complete their details, and any provider can ask to be amended or removed. Details on how to do this are set out in our Terms and Conditions and on the site.
Reviews and ratings
Reviews written by members of the public can help others make informed choices, and they can also be misused. Our guidelines below are designed to keep reviews genuine, fair and lawful. By submitting a review you agree to follow them.
What we ask of reviewers
- Write about your own genuine experience with the provider. Do not post reviews for a business you own, work for, or compete with.
- Be honest and fair. Base what you write on fact, and give the provider the benefit of reasonable context.
- Do not include personal health details, or information that identifies another patient, in a public review.
- Do not post content that is defamatory, abusive, discriminatory, obscene, harassing or threatening.
- Do not include private or contact information about individuals, or anything that infringes another person’s rights.
- Do not post advertising, spam, or content that is not a genuine review.
How we moderate reviews
We operate a moderation policy. We may screen, decline to publish, edit for length or clarity, or remove reviews that break these guidelines or the law. We do not verify the accuracy of individual reviews, and a review reflects the personal opinion of the person who wrote it, not the views of TheraMap. We do not remove a review simply because a provider disagrees with it, but we will act on reviews that breach our guidelines.
If you are a provider and want to respond
Providers may reply to reviews about them and may report a review they believe breaches our guidelines or the law. If you believe a review is false or unlawful, contact us with the detail and we will review it fairly. We aim to balance the public interest in honest feedback with fairness to the businesses we list.
Reporting a review or other content
To report a review, a listing or any other content, email info@theramap.cy with a link to the content and a short explanation of the problem. We will respond as soon as we reasonably can.
